COVID Precautions Are Changing Yet Again
COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Ocean County as well as elsewhere. Even though the blue tape that was separating us is now gone, you may want to use caution. Plus, even though mask wearing is still optional, particularly for those who are vaccinated, you may want to consider wearing a mask. We here at WMPC care about everyone’s health and safety; therefore, we place the choice in your hands. Masks and hand sanitizer are available for anyone who would prefer continuing to wear a mask. We would ask that you still be sure to sign in.
Now that we have elected officers (elders and deacons) here at WMPC, each of those people are exploring their talents as they begin to serve on various committees. Please speak to one of the committee members if you would like to volunteer to help.
Ruling Elders: Keith Barrow (Buildings & Grounds), Len Capuano (Finance), Angie Kirsch (Worship), Jean Wrisley & Alice Mote (Communication & Outreach)
Deacons: Susan Barrow (Worship, Communication & Outreach), Mike Coates (Buildings & Grounds) and Robert Kirsch (Communication & Outreach).
WMPC Is Now Accepting Donations Online
In case you haven’t notice, our website has been enhanced to include an online giving feature that will allow you to continue supporting Wright Memorial Presbyterian Church, which has been serving the Barnegat community since 1886. Your donation, regardless of how small, will go a long way in helping the church meet the spiritual and material needs of our neighbors. Remember: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap…” (Luke 6:38).
Beginning Saturday, August 28, The New Birth Seventh Day Adventist Church will be sharing our space with us. The Administrative Commission and Session members agreed to welcome this group as they begin a new venture in the area. Their “mother church” is Grace Place Seventh Day Adventist Church located in Lakewood. You can find out more about their ministry at https://lakewoodenglishcalebnj.adventistchurch.org/
While it may mean some changes and adjustments for WMPC, there is also the opportunity to do some shared ministry and reaching out to the community. New Birth’s worship service will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturdays. They will be using our facilities from 10 AM to 1 PM. If you are around, please be sure to welcome them as Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
